KuCoin, a cryptocurrency exchange, has launched a $100 million fund for NFT creators.

The Creators Fund is an addition to KuCoin's recently launched NFT marketplace, Windvane.

KuCoin, a Singapore-based cryptocurrency trading platform, announced the creation of a $100 million Creators Fund on Tuesday to support early-stage non-fungible token (NFT) projects.

  • The fund is an addition to the recently launched KuCoin Windvane NFT Marketplace. Windvane, according to KuCoin, provides creators with access to heavy exchange traffic as well as community support for developing initial NFT offerings.
  • The KuCoin exchange, which was launched in 2017, had 10 million registered users at the end of last year and currently has a daily trading volume of about $2.2 billion, according to CoinGecko data.
  • KuCoin Creators Fund is a collaboration between Windvane and KuCoin Ventures, the exchange's venture capital arm. According to the press release, NFT verticals of interest include arts, sports, profile pictures (PFPs), Asian culture, celebrities, and GameFi.
  • In addition, the fund will invite 99 NFT creators to join the Windvane marketplace, which includes standard features such as minting, trading, and storage. Windvane works with the most popular NFT blockchains, such as Ethereum, BSC, and Flow.
